I had home instead set up to go to my grandmothers house every Friday to take her to church, buy groceries or whatever she needed and to keep her company. It seemed to be going well from the communication i had with the company and my grandmother. however, when i went to see in person how she was doing, because i live in FL and she lives in IA, she had basically nothing in her pantry or fridge.... When my son was released from a Physical Rehab Facility, he was given a few free house of service from Home Instead. They showed up the day he arrived home. Young lady was perfectly nice, but I had nothing for her to do and we entertained her for two hours. Next, someone was supposed to come out the day before a doctor's appointment (?), I asked that they come out the day of the doctor's... Read more

I worked for them for 5.6 yrs. Once I refused to take care of two seniors in one home and getting paid for only one, I was let go? The franchise collected insurance from both seniors in the same household. They got double pay, I provided double care but only got paid for one? Bank account is their priority, not care of seniors or employees.I have reported other employee abuse and neglect, it was... Read more

I fell at work and broke my shoulder. I drove myself home, called my supervisor. they took me to urgent care. after being examined and knowing how bad the sent me home and not to the er. my boss could have ok'ed it but didn't. They never called to see how I was or if I needed anything. I had a follow up appointment and called my boss to ask if she could take me and she said everyone was busy.... Read more

Oh yeah, their very compassionate, right, could of fooled me. After suing me for subpar work for $8,000.00, it turned into a $18,000.00 judgment, so far taking $4.4K out of my bank account, then levying the rest on any property I owned. These people are heartless, incompetent, management lacking and under trained yet they have no problem charging you $27.00 an hour for that type of work ethics.... Read more

The caliber of people who write these reviews should tell you why the company let them go! Really take a look at yourself. This is an excellent company to work for and truly cares about its clients and CareGivers. Training is provided for every one you just have to use your brain and do the training. It has a very open door policy for all, If you are doing your job correctly"figger it out" a... Read more

All you have to look at is the remarks of these short time employees writing on here. The others claim their overly trained (when not) and are way over their head if an emergency did happen. I had to have a very delicate, complex back surgery in the line of duty in 2011, after coming home after being in the hospital for three weeks, I had to hire day help as my limited motion required outside... When I worked for this company, they had me on 24 hour shifts a few days a week including weekends. I wasn't too thrilled with 24 hour shifts but I got through them. But after a month or so I got real sick and need surgery. I told my manager what was going on and all she asked was "are you resigning?" and at that point I hadn't thought about resigning because I needed this job. She never asked... Read more
